Assignment 26: Mentorship Reflection

Today marks the last day for my blogging and soon to be last day of my internship. I have decided to extend my time with the Hamilton Law Firm into mid-June because I am not ready to let go of it just yet. My internship has been beyond expectations and an amazing opportunity. I find that the best way to describe it is as life changing. The Hamilton Law Firm has taught me so much that I do not even know where to begin explaining. I not only learned about civil and criminal law but also everything that comes with running a successful company. To add on to that I gained many fun memories and skills that'll last me a life time. I made the most out of my internship by showing up as many times a week as possible and going in during school breaks too.

My internship has made feel better prepared for when I enter the work force. I learned so much about communication and team work from being able to participate at the firm. My work ethic has only improved and opened many opportunities for me. When I first started this internship, I entered with the intent to learn more and see if this the career path I wanted to take. With my internship soon coming to an end, I know that the law path is the path I want to take. My mentors have helped guide me this entire year and even offered me summer opportunities and even after law school opportunities. I am so happy to have met the amazing people at the Hamilton Law Firm, because they have shaped me to be the person I am today, and prepared me to tackle on my dreams for the future.

The advice I leave for future students who wish to participate in Honors Mentorship is: GO FOR IT! You will not have any regrets. You will only learn more about the career path you wish to take and yourself. Make sure to make the most of your time and ask questions. Do not let anything hold you back. Learn as much as you can and you will see the wonderful impact it will have on you.
