Assignment 17: Written Proposal Draft

I chose to intern at a law firm because I have always been interested in pursuing a career in law. And so, having an internship like this will help me understand more and offer me a real-life experience of this career field. My essential question in the beginning was to research about how lawyers defend clients who have been accused of being guilty of a crime. But as days go by I find my questions always changing as I learn more. The question I am leaning more towards now asks if it okay for emotions to drive lawyers. Interning at a law firm has shown me the reality of terrible crimes that occur everyday and because of this I want to research more about how lawyers allow their emotions to influence them or not. Other than this website, I plan to present my research with a Power Point. I feel that a power point will allow me to effectively present all of my research in an orderly and enjoyable fashion. For my real inquiry, I am looking forward to conducting more interviews with the lawyers at the firm. Because of how personal my essential question is, I think that the best way to get more information is by talking with lawyers.
