When first starting an internship it is very important to be enthusiastic and most importantly to smile. This tip is the first thing mentioned on the First Impressions Podcast and I find it to be the most important. I think that when being introduced to a new environment its important to take it on in a positive way and to smile through. This just helps make any interactions between mentors and other workers not awkward. Another important tip is: get to know your mentors and the other workers. This tip comes from the Knowing Your Mentor handout. I find this crucial because it helps you form bonds and relationships with the people you'll be learning from and helping. So ask away. But it is also very important to not take the questioning to far. I have just recently started my internship, and for me these two tips have proved to be useful and true. I have formed a comfortable relationship with all the workers at my internship and I'm always excited to go in. I hope to have all my questions answered through this internship. I have always wanted to be a lawyer and being able to intern at a law firm will hopefully answer all my questions. In hopes of doing so, I'll be making the most out of the time I get interning there. Since I have already started, I've been working hard and taking notes down on everything I find important. I feel that once all my questions have been answered, it will help me decide which path I want to take in life. This internship will also help me be confident in pursing the career I want.
